Holiday Destinations

When the holidays are just around the corner and everyone is in the holiday spirit, the students and staff are ready to get out and have fun with friends and family. Many students travel to fun destinations during winter break. LHS student Shelby Kanfla (‘17) said, “Disneyland is where I would go for the holidays”. This seems to be a popular destination with LHS students, Disney is where they like to spend their holidays.  LHS students favor Disneyland because of the intriguing light and musical attractions, festive parade featuring Santa Claus, and the joyful fireworks show and best of all; the festive holidays goodies. Not only do students love to go to Disneyland, but LHS staff as well. Connie Brown, LHS Counseling Secretary, said “If it is not home, it will be Disneyland.”

Disneyland isn’t the only popular destination among Lincoln families, Courtney Link (‘19) said, “Lake Tahoe has a holiday feeling because of the white snow”. Lake Tahoe is the second most popular holiday destination at LHS.

The Tahoe region has a lot of snow activities like skiing, snowball fights, tubing/sledding and ice skating. There will also be a Polar Express train ride  in Truckee, Christmas wonderland at Eldorado  Resort and Casino in Reno,  festival of trees and lights at MontBleu NV, and stroll through town  and enjoy live music and art, complimentary appetizers and drinks, and the glow of the Christmas tree surrounded by local carolers.

Angela Button, LHS Attendance Clerk, said “Lake Tahoe is one of my choices for the holidays”.

We’ll have you decided where to go yet? LHS student Ian Phillips (‘18) said, “Utah is one of my favorite places to go over the holidays”. So it does not have to be in the state (it could be out of state). If you don’t want to leave the state, you could enjoy another lake like Emily Sampson (‘18) who said, “Shasta Lake is my idea for a holiday”. Tom Kelley, LHS counselor, said, “The two best stays for the holidays for me are Santa Cruz and Lake Tahoe”.

Whether staying at home or traveling to a fun destination, enjoy your holiday season!
